My name is Scott Anderson. I am a semi-retire chemical engineer with 41 years of experience in the petroleum refining industry. I still consult part-time. I have a car hobby specializing in Pontiac Fieros. I have interest in developing an electric supercharger for a 1986 Fiero with a 2.8L V-6. I first stumbled onto the Torqamp websire but felt that their centrifugal blower was too small and inefficient. I have access to software that allows me to calculate:

1) blower efficiency if pressure ratio and temperature rise are known
2) horsepower if pressure ratio, efficiency and flow rate are know
3) pressure ratio is power consumption, efficiency and flow rate are known
4) flow rate if power consumption, efficiency and pressure ratio are known
5) maybe some other combinations I haven't though of.

The work on this forum is cutting edge. I look forward to future participation.

Welcome! I can't say how many times I've tried calculating some of that stuff myself, only to discover that it's math that's beyond me. I just happen to be moving to Texas myself soon - about 2.5 hours from you on the gulf coast...

Where on the gulf coast? I worked for 21 years in Corpus Christi prior to retirement.

The software I can access is quick and easy so if anybody needs calculations performed just let me know.

Actually just outside Corpus, near Rockport. The reason you haven't heard from me was I was busy packing the trailer and then the last couple of days driving down. I'm 160 mi away from there. And thanks for the offer. I'll be checking the forum when I can over the next couple of weeks but I have a couple of YouTube videos honestly already stacked up to release planning for this trip...

Kind of a retirement and tourism community but Rockport is one of the nicer places on the Texas Gulf Coast. I do have a hobby machine shop with some vintage but capable machines. A 1902 LeBlond 14" swing lathe and a 1915 Cincinnati No3 horizontal mill. Got a vertical head for the mill but need to build an adapter. Also have a friend in San Antonio who is even better skilled and equipped.

Great to see you join, Scott! I am Herb Hyatt and joined recently myself and am in Houston area. Now, I know how you were able to give me the temp rise/pressure rise/efficiency data you shared. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I am currently finishing building a nice sized shop. I would love to pick up a used horizontal mill and metal lathe if you come across any leads that you are not pursuing. I spent 40 years as a petroleum engineer with Exxon/ExxonMobil, but I never worked surface facilities like compressors.

Herb, the friend I mentioned has a warehouse full of old machines from the 1940's to 1950's era. Better stocked on mills than lathes. His health is starting to decline and I know he would like to sell some of his inventory. The warehouse is located in Kenedy, Tx. Call me at 361-215-4470 to discuss further.

Will do! I've gone dove hunting in Kenedy a few times.
