Hi
I just joined after searching the capabilities of electric supercharging.
I have an Australian Holden 5L stroked to 5.6L in a mid-engined Giocattolo. There is very little room for exhaust driven turbos and heat would be a problem. I don't want to change the look of the intake plenum with an intake mounted engine driven supercharger so I'm exploring electric.
I have just bought a small capasity compound twin turbo diesel 4x4 and I'm really impressed with it's low down torque and power spread which has peaked my interest in compound setups for a club street car.
I will have around 550 flywheel horsepower NA and I'd like to end up with around 700hp starting somewhere under 3,000rpm, maybe 2,500?
The standard intake plenum has 2 cable driven throttle bodies. The primary is 70mm and the secondary is 90mm. It would be nice to set it up to run NA on the 70mm TB and the superchargers through the 90mm. Then have a solenoid select NA or SC.
I'd like to understand
-if I'm dreaming
-about battery capacity and charging
-ECUs that might control this
-how to size the superchargers.
-can they be overdriven
-and a hundred things I haven't thought of yet
Thanks
Dave
