Update :
Looked closer at the pulley of the outputshaft of the P-2
Unfortunately it is NOT a HTD pitch (High Torque Drive).
(no circular grooves here!)
The only possible pitch types would be
- XL type (trapezoidal inch pitch of the ~5mm) OR
- AT type 5M pitch (trapezoidal metric...
and in contrast here the ahr32113 discharge sheet (as advertised):
note 20C is about 90A (4.5 Ah capacity)
I managed to order 80 (16x5) of those type cells on AliExpress for USD 383 shipped. My battery will be 16s5p (~65cmx20cmx15cm in a cell holder tray) and good for 675A continuous discharge...
16s LifePO4 has "nominal 48V" and is getting charged up to 58.4 V (16x3.65). (this is the theory!)
You need to look at the discharge curves of the LifePO4 cell "of choice" under different C discharges to estimate behaviour under load.
I have found below test of ANR26650 grade A cells:
If...
yes ... meanwhile I got turned away from the Headway "standard".
I jumped on the ahr32113 wagon on AliExpress since I got the package quite cheap: less than 5 USD (4.8) per battery including shipping to me. The vendor is advertising them as "NEW full new manufacture for A123 ahr..." ... let's...
at 48V you might find the 5870 (or any of the alternatives!) pulling more amps than you thought!
(there WILL be load on the motor! Our base calculations are theoretical lower thresholds!)
The APD HV Pro 24s might become bottleneck then (if you don't go higher with voltage!).
If you insist on...
Nice find!
Actually I am torn between the disputed Headway 38120HP ... and preferrably the A123 AHR32113 ...
While above ANR26650M1B are more compact and cheaper, they are of significantly lower capacity.
Shooting for a 16s4(5)p configuration. The ANRs would need a lot in parallel to get some...
yep ... digging in regards to alternator as well.
My 3.6 LFX is the same "truck setup" (accessories and intake manifold) as the 2015/2016 Chevy Colorado!
So I assume something like this will be good (overkill even) :

But...
I have been wrapping my head around the topic of topping up the eBoost battery while driving.
And here are the very basic thoughts:
So ... a emotor producing 14kW would theoretically pull 290 A @ 48 V
For every time period running at that rate A (Nt x Ra) we need to recharge with a rate B for...
Yes ... of course good!
But then the system really needs to run at 75V+ to make sure the pulled amps do not exceed the specs of that ESC model ... would be a shame to get the 20s and then run lower voltage through it risking overdraw damage.

while the ANR 26650 is a good cell and on @MkngStffAwesome testing list, above ad is...
it relatively is ...
- the LMT 30100 is ~550 USD
- the APD UHV 20s is ~1700 USD
- the APD HV pro 16s is ~1100 USD
you could get away with the HV pro 16s. The UHV 20s has more wiggle room.
I think I cannot pass on the APD HV pro 16s anyway.
And the LMT30100 is just 200 more than the 5870 ...
ok ... here a (higher voltage!) setup with 2 different motor options which looks promising:
The Torqstar3 for a geared supercharger (with step up)
The LMT 30100 for a directdrive (1:1) setup.
powerwise it comes close ... very close
https://www.mgm-compro.com/propulsion-system-units/17-kw/...
the 16s is rated for a lower voltage of about 60V (58?) (where our motors pull more current).
the 24s is rated for a higher voltage of about 90V.
so ... theoretically if a motor needs to deliver 13kW it would pull
~271 A at 48V (ouch!) or
~220 A at 58V (the max voltage of the 16s APD) or
~144...
Thanks! But where are you located (Cyprus, right?)? Anything not continental US is going to be a pain!
It is not importing them into the UAE ... it is the packaging and declaration/labelling paperwork which is a paper djungle before actually using any means of transportation.
Batteries are...
Yes, thanks! I am holding off! (first reason: shipping any battery/module from the US to me is going to get reeally complicated / expensive. second reason: what you said ... Headway's 38120HP LifePO4s are not "undisputed" ... (just this package seemed so attractive!)
Interestingly shipping...
sorry if you got me wrong. I am very well aware about the realistic "duty cycles" of boost (configurable for sure as well).
And I am aware about the realistic gains with alternator charging in the pauses (what I called on board charging).
I was just promoting the wall plug charger ADDITIONALLY...
... from my earlier posted pic of the impeller : can we really say we have a Vortech Si trim knock off here?
if yes then this would be the our compressor map? (attached)
found here https://vortechsuperchargers.com/pages/compressor-maps
so 20k to 30k impeller rpms already play some music for...
Guys ... this site is becoming a "crowd engineering" site ... LOVE it.
Thanks @All ... especially @AlexLTDLX and @MkngStffAwesome !
(no offense to everybody else, pretty sure there is some awesome stuff going on which has not yet found its way over the keyboard ...)
Currently rethinking a lot...
btw ... the TP motors (the 5860 for sure and most likely the 5870 too) do not spin freely! You cannot even turn them by hand (seriously!).
So if in off position it is unlikely that the impeller will rotate just from the sucked in air (and we might have to look at the sweet spot under which the...
