JLR electric turbo

Hey guys

So I have this JLR electric turbo, I've learned that developing a can controller for it is way to much work and not worth it.

So the next question is could I gut it and run it with a basic ESC?

I know from the diagram it's fused at 120a 48v

I know people have gotten the VAG unit working so I imagine there's hope

Just a quick update on this project.

There's almost no practical way to emulate a can signal and ignore the component protection on this thing. So just for the heck of it I gutted it and hooked up this flipsky 75200 pro.

I've got the unit doing things, probably not making more than a pound to 2 lb of boost though.
And to be fair, I have very little knowledge of what I'm doing right now LOL

That thing looks neat; I did mess around with VESC for a while and had problems with repeatability and high eRPM performance. How many poles does the motor have? The lower the better as far as VESC and high speed running is concerned.

Thanks, it's pretty interesting stuff

This is a four pole motor
