Hello all!
Just joined because I am looking for a little forced induction for my Mazdaspeed. I started the project a while ago and have been driving it for the last year. While it is plenty fun, it isn't "fast". By all means it is quick, but it isn't what I want it to be. Now I can go a couple different routes to achieve my goal. I could get a 6.2 shortblock, I can get a Vortech and fab it in there, or really go down the rabbit hole and go turbo... I like different... I like to learn, and I like boost! so while I can get a short block for 4-6k, there isn't any learning, it isn't much different, and there isn't any boost!
So that leaves me where I am currently. It will cost a similar chunk of change to do a supercharger. I am rather limited on space as far as what can be bolted to the engine. (I want to keep a "stock" outward appearance.) I am leaning toward a Vortech as it still is a challenge.
However, I have been eyeing a Tesla Model 3 performance for a family daily...That got me thinking...
I recalled an episode of Cletus McFarland where they tested a Torque Amp system and thought to myself: I recall that was a few years ago...Things like batteries have come a long way in recent years, brushless motors must have too. So I head over to one of my favorite educational sources... YouTube...
That is where I ran into Alex's Videos.. I haven't seen many options for the v8 crowd until then. You now have my interest...
I have scoured the forum a little and will do so a little Further. I am budget minded, so I want to keep the cost down (around $4-5k) But want something that makes at least 6psi peak and at lease 4-5 at the top end..
