I'm in Texas right now, so I don't have to exact size(s) available, but there's a size of pvs electrical conduit that those cells fit in perfectly, and there's a tap size that happens to fit into that conduit perfectly - which I bought (because of course I did). That makes making very high...
Welcome! I actually have 180 of those cells. The biggest issue is the current capacity of the strips. I have yet to figure out how to do it where they can legitimately handle the kind of current we need. I have an idea (and bought some parts), but am still doubtful. I do intend to do some...
What's really unfortunate is that the Hobbywing ESC would be great for your setup. As much as I love the MGM stuff, it's expensive and getting things serviced is difficult. Don't get me wrong - great guys and a good product, but with the Hobbywing being 450 USD, it's tough to say no to it.
We're here to help. I'm a little touch and go right now building this new house here in Texas, but I'm turning my attentions back to the forum and all. Welcome!
Sorry for the delayed response - had an eventful two weeks driving down to Texas and dealing with things. Three flat tires and I now apparently own a dog. But to answer your question, from Battery Hookup.
I used Zeee batteries for my initial tests (including my first drag test). After much testing, they're not great batteries. They should work, but keep an eye on voltage drop. Here's a load test I did that included my best Zeee batteries:
Do you all think it might be worth trying something like these:

I don't think they'd make a lot of boost, but maybe stacking several together might actually be worth something; particularly relative to the low cost. Do you think it's worth exploring? It'd be very easy...
matnrach - do you have current draw and voltage under load data? Also, what do your batteries weigh? I'd like to see how much smaller/lighter a Lipo setup would be for your setup, especially since it's a low duty cycle application.
GTHound - at the end of the day, working for your...
For lead/acid batteries, the shape of their discharge curve is terrible, as is the life. Plus they have a pretty poor internal resistance for their weight. Can they be made to work? Yes. Are they worth using? No, not in my opinion.
Lithium battery types pros/cons:
LTO cells are the...
