Its weird because the motor never get crazy hot when I totch it. I will pull the datalog out of it maybe today.
It's hard to get infos out of the castle motor. Sure its interesting and I almost buy a castle motor for my first set up but there was not a lot infos.
They said 40k rpm for the...
Hey guys, has you know my set up is almost done! BUT I start having issues today!
I have a 4070-CM TP motor. 34v 9000 watts **max**. Currently I have 50v battery and Im not sure how much watts Im pulling off right now but im pretty sure it's at least 13'000 watts. Even last year I was pushing...
It really depend of a lot of thing. Motor, batterys and compressor. Alex have up to 8psi for 550 whp **I think** and mine is 7-8psi too but for 200whp **still have to confirm** wich still better than torqamp
The torqamp is pretty small and I really don't know the compressor map. You will gain some but torqamp is expensive for what it is. It work great on some case but for an inline 6 3.0 I really don't think you will get a lot with it.
I want it to stay on while shifting! I thought I had post it here but I bought a delay timer relay and it work perfectly fine! Otherwise I lose couple seconds every time to spool back up. So when I shift, the throttle plate close and the blow off open and stay at full boost when I'm back on the...
Here in Quebec we miss call everything in anything 😂 so maybe the "drill rod" is just an other miss call. Yes it's hard and can be heat treat but not a super hard heat treat! It's not super hard to machine! Its not like a 50+ rockwell.
Well I don't have the answer for this. An engineer could gave more infos. I've made my shaft out of "drill rod". That's a tough alloy. BUT the real shaft don't look that tough anyway. It don't look to have a super hard heat treat. The shaft on real turbo is grind with precision. And to be grind...
In my design, I never talk about it but I made it in a way "IF" the shaft break loose on the shaft of the Emotor, nothing else will fly away. Imagine your shaft "IF" the set screw get loose, the impeller will probably totch the compressor housing, the impeller will shatter, broke you real turbo...
I use a custom shaft that I made and glued it with green loctite. The worst to make is this. You want it to be perfectly concentrique. I was able to make it almost perfect with 0.0005" with all the critical diameter of the bearing and impeller seats after my 5th try with almost 1hour each 🤣...
My knowledge of compressor map is little but what I understand is think about the air volume first. Horsepower can be calculate with the amount of air. If you want to push more air (more power), you need to compress the air since the motor have displacement. For a N/A car the air is at 0psi. So...
MGM controller is user friendly and they just work out of the box. The VESC look sooo much tricky. Alex can relate. He's the one who can help you with it. Don't try to go with chinese ESC, this is a waiste of money.
I think if you go with a VESC, you should go with a sensor motor to use all the...
