Hello all, I came across a video by Alex and love the idea.
Most of my life I have worked in the auto aftermarket 12v installation field. Started in car audio and moved into alarms and car tv installation etc. I built police and fire vehicles as well (lighting, sirens and radios etc.).
For years I was a very high level RC car racer, competing against the best in the world. What really got me excited is seeing that the latest Castle Creations esc and motor are a great combo to make this possible. When I was racing I had partial sponsors from multiple manufactures but only one sponsor stepped up and really took care of me with a full 100% sponsorship and that was Castle Creations. I had nothing but great experiences with Castle and am very excited to be using there products again.
On the performance car side of things, I grew up in michigan with my friends dads all being muscle car guys which meant most of my friends went that route as well. As someone who often chooses to the path less traveled I went the route of the import car scene and have been a Honda guy ever since. I am very knowledgeable in the forced induction side. My most recent performance combination is an ALL stock Honda K24 with a 58mm turbo that made 493hp on the hub dyno.
As for vehicle of choice, nowadays I am very big into the sand dunes at Glamis in southern california. I have a Funco Gen 4 sandrail that I took out the subaru turbo 2.7 stroker motor because it had a garbage powerband. I put in the above mentioned K24 and put together the turbo kit and had it tuned on a stock ecu with Hondata.
After the success with this package I got greedy and decided I to go all in with major chassis reworking, having a new engine built for big power and purchased a high end sequential transmission to handle the planned big hp and the top of the line Haltech R5 ecu for engine management. Unfortunately life got in the way of finishing the project and it sits in pieces still needing a lot of fabrication work to be able to start putting all back together.
All this said the idea of using Castle electronics to put together an electric supercharger package to boost a honda powered project, I have new motivation to get things rolling.
I look forward to being a part of this community, both learning and helping out when I can.
