Not to mention, why would you Boost before the manifold, only to have the Throttle body lower the pressure and Volumetric Efficiency again?
It would be better to have the Boost mapped to only the highest part of the throttle range where the throttle body isn't acting as a restriction to fight...
Speeduino ECU's are really interesting for this kind of discussion.
You could write your own branch of code to build a custom Boost feedback controller
What's bad about the TPS control is that
A. Your Throttle body is literally throttling the engine by reducing its Volumetric Efficiency, so then why would you try to increase VE again if your throttle is going to drop the pressure again before the manifold.
B. You would need some sort of...
Since most performance cars have direct coupled throttle bodies (no drive by wire), then I would think that you would need to use a Feedback controller for one of either 2 things
#1 A basic TPS response which literally just maps the TPS position to a certain Motor controller Input (I'm not sure...
Even though this VESC is REALLY Underrated for this Power, especially with the Regulator heating issue with Flipsky brand VESC's as mentioned in the last post... This was our fastest run yet on a Castle-P2 setup!
Even though the batteries were half dead (limiting max RPM), we went up 2 sizes on...
A problem with Flipsky aftermarket VESC's limited this test to a short duration due to a thermal problem with the Linear 5v Voltage Regulator. It seems to produce a ton of heat on the board when the DC Bus Voltage is towards the upper VESC limit (12s or 50v).
The 50a Motor Current limit was set...
Bumping for interest!
I'm an HVAC/Refrigeration Owner and have seen lots of different Refrigeration setups.
With any System design, there is the Total Capacity (BTU's per hour), but then there is also the design choice of Delta T vs. Airflow in CFM when taking the Total capacity into account...
I am seriously considering building an LTO pack like yours...where did you obtain those Lishen LTO cells from?
I found some on Alibaba but I know how batteries can often be cloned and reproduced. Just wanted to make sure everything I buy is Genuine
I was just going to have a controller "Map" the conditions of the Supercharger based on the RPM and Pressure data to determine if I'm in the Compressor Surge region
I'm hoping to test that myself here soon. I'm using a P2 setup with a small 3.0L engine, so I'm gonna be testing if Braking current is enough to stop the motor before Surge or blowoff would need to happen. I think it depends on how much force you can apply to your setup without breaking anything...
We're still working on the design because this one hasn't run past 9k Motor RPM yet. We also had some problems with the pulley mounting because there isn't a lot of space there to assemble everything.
Thanks! I ended up making a ton more progress with the VESC, but decided not to release it because there were tons of "Sketcky" YouTube accounts and comments that started popping up.
I decided to contribute the project knowledge to a USA based Drone company instead of posting to YouTube further...
